Berean Challenge 2026

Join us on March 21 from 2:00–4:00 PM for our inaugural Berean Challenge, a lively Bible knowledge competition hosted on our Sattler campus. Open exclusively to high school students, this event invites participants to test their knowledge of Scripture in a friendly but rigorous setting—whether they come well-prepared or rely on what they already know. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize! Second place receives $500, and third place $250.

The Berean Challenge is designed to encourage careful study of God’s Word while fostering fellowship and healthy competition. All are welcome to attend, cheer on participants, and enjoy the afternoon—no prior preparation required.

Schedule and Format: 

• 2-2:10 pm: Opening remarks (Finny Kuruvilla) and dismissal of the students.
• 2:15-2:30 pm: Contestants take the first round quiz on paper in a classroom; Judges are in the room to ensure that there is no collaboration or use of devices. The audience similarly takes the quiz but not proctored.
• 2:30-2:45 pm: Judges grade their papers in a private room. While grading happens the answers are discussed in the main room.
• 2:50 pm: The Judges announce who advances into round 2.
• 3:00-3:15 pm: Contestants take the second round quiz on paper in a classroom; Judges are in the room to ensure that there is no collaboration or use of devices. The audience similarly takes the quiz but not proctored.
• 3:15-3:30 pm: Judges grade their papers in a private room. While grading happens, the answers are discussed in the main room.
• 3:30 pm: Judges announce final three contestants.
• 3:30-3:45 pm: Live competition on-stage with a buzzer with Judges asking questions.
• 3:45 pm: Awards given (checks presented by the Judges).
• 3:55 pm: Concluding prayer and dismissal.

Lodging Options

There are a number of hotels in downtown Boston to choose from, including the Omni Parker House, the Godfrey Hotel, the Bostonian, the Harborside Inn, and Maverick Suites. The following hotels have parking and easy transit access to Sattler: Holiday Inn Express Boston Logan Airport, Staybridge Suites Boston Logan Airport, and Holiday Inn Express Cambridge. For more affordable options, we would recommend HI Boston Hostel or finding hotels or an Airbnb further out from the city. 

Parking

If you travel to campus via an automobile, metered parking is available around the building and in front of Center Plaza. Additionally, 100 Cambridge has a parking garage with hourly parking rates during the weekdays and flat fees in the evenings and on weekends. This parking garage has a direct entrance to the building.
